For many people across the country, the recent economic downturn affected their ability to make ends meet. Mortgage prices are one thing, but when combined with exorbitant monthly heat and electrical costs the burden is difficult to bear. Hard-up homeowners are coming out in droves, searching for a renewable energy system that can supply the power they need and drive those expenses down as well.

Two options stand out above all others: solar and wind energy power. Wind turbines harness the kinetic energy brought forth in the breeze and transfer it to a generator for storage and eventual use. Solar panels, on the other hand, utilize small cells that capture the sun’s energy. Before selecting one of these sustainable systems, it’s important to factor in the local climate and the space that’s available.
